Nananu-i-Ra Activities
Scuba Diving
Diving in the waters around Nananu-i-ra is a very popular activity with a number of dive operators in the area. Scuba diving available includes
- Night Diving - Deep diving - Wreck diving (the 'Papuan Explorer') - Drift diving
All are great for underwater photography.
Snorkelling
Since this island is surrounded by a coral reef there is excellent snorkelling just off shore. Especially on the Viti Levu side of the island if you are looking for a large number of tropical fish.
Windsurfing, Kite Boarding, Kite Surfing
The east side of the island, in particular Mile Long Beach is ideal for windsurfing and kite boarding. There are a few places to rent windsurfers and kite boards on the island. Check out Safari Lodge, who operate from Ellington Wharf and on Nananu-i-Ra.
Fishing and Sailing
Safari Lodge also organise fishing and sailing activities. Sailing is for novice or experienced sailors and includes local guide/skipper. Great opportunity to explore deserted beaches, and good snorkelling spots. Fishing, again, can be enjoyed whether you are a keen fishing enthusiast or just want to try your luck! Game fishing, sport fishing and hand line fishing is available.
