Nananu-i-ra Rental Cars

Driving in Fiji is on the left. Tourists must hold a valid driving license to rent a car. Minimum age is generally 21 and excesses apply. Cars can be rented at Suva International Airport, in in Suva Town.

The road around most of Viti Levu is tar-sealed but watch for stray animals, pot holes (especially after long periods of rain) and a few crazy drivers. The speed limit is a conservative 50km and roads are all single carriage. It takes about 4 hours from Suva to Suva along the Queens Highway (south coast) and at least 7 hours on the Kings Highway (north coast) which is not completely tar-sealed. Roads leading inland are not tar-sealed but most are quite passable except after heavy rain.
